List of Community Activities

Smiths Bletchington receive many approaches from all sorts of different community bodies, in respect of all manner of causes, and aim to support as many as possible in accordance with their policy.  Our contribution to these appeals can be financial, by way of sponsorship, donation or support advertising, but often in kind, by providing our goods and services free of charge.

In recent years, we have supported the following, in no particular order of importance:-

The Northmoor Trust  -  Donation of stone to help build ‘geological wall’ exhibit at Long Wittenham nature reserve.

Weston-on-the-Green Village Hall  -  Provision of aggregates to renovate the car park.

Ley Community, Yarnton  -  Provision of aggregates to renovate the grounds of the Drug Rehabilitation Centre.

Kirtlington Primary School  -  Sponsorship of Parents Association fundraising events and provision of sponsored football kit for school team.

CCM Academy  -  Coaching sponsorship of Oxfordshire County schoolboy cricketers.

Witney Amateur Boxing Club  -   Support advertising for annual tournament.

Witney Young Farmers Club  -  Support advertising for annual horse show.

Oxfordshire Young Farmers Club  -  Support advertising for year book.

Tackley Horse Show  -  Annual sponsorship of pony competition.

Mollington Point to Point  -  Annual sponsorship of race for Bicester Hunt with Whaddon chase.

Oxford city FC  -  Ground advertising board.

Ducklington & Hardwick Produce Show  -  Annual sponsorship of the Open Vegetable Competition.

Bicester & Finmere Show  -  Provision of sand for equestrian arena.  Show seeks to generate funds for research to spinal injuries, and is in aid of related equestrian charities.

Ardley Youth Club  -  Provision of free stone to build basketball court.

Witney Carnival  -  Annual sponsorship of float.  Carnival in aid of various charities.

Bletchington Primary School  -  Donation of prizes for fund raising activities.

Charlton United FC  -  Kit sponsorship for local football team at Charlton-on-Otmoor.

Bicester Community College  -  Donation to minibus appeal.

Witney Rugby Football Club  -  Support advertising for youth rugby festival.

Anthony Nolan Bone Trust  -  Sponsorship of employees taking part in annual charity bike ride.

Brize Norton Primary School  -  Provision of free shingle for renovation of playground.

Stanton Harcourt Village Hall  -  Provision of free shingle to renovate car park.

Stanton Harcourt Museum Committee  -  Pledge for donation to proposed museum of local archaeological finds, including dinosaur fossils.

St John’s Ambulance  -  Donation to help with rebuilding of Kidlington HQ.
