Road and Track Construction

Construction of roads will vary depending on the required specification and use. Highways will differ slightly from the requirements for farm and estate roads. With Highway construction specification is more rigid and laid out in the Highway Works Specification. However for estate roads and tracks it is less restricted, the ground is prepared to line and level and compacted. Next a textile membrane is laid prior to laying 150 to 200mm of capping layer, this can be of open graded or well graded limestone depending on whether it is required to be porous or not.

Surfacing can be Screened Ballast, Decorative Aggregate, MOT Type I, Planings, Brick Paviours, Tarmac or Concrete.
